Side PRojects

When it comes to creativity and design I love exploring new mediums as much as I can. I am also very lucky in that throughout my years at university I was able to work part time in both a woodsop and a digital print lab, which gave me access to many tools I otherwise would never have been able to explore. This is a collection of smaller projects which I made purely for enjoyment and to expand my knowledge of various creative processes.

Token Cards

These cards are part of an ongoing project to illustrate different Magic the Gathering token creatures. They were made using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator

Portal Chess Board

01

Portal Chess

Portal Chess is a variant in which players each control two boards. On each turn a player can either make a turn on each board, or "portal" a piece from one board to the same location on the other. Only the king cannot change boards and once a player looses on either board the game is over.

Cat Tower

This cat tower was a fun little project I made over the course of a few work shifts specifically for my cat, Annie. I was unsure how much she would actually appreciate my hard work but luckily she found my craftsmanship adequate enough to use on a daily basis.

Digital Art

After an accidental deep dive conversation about AI, I became inspired by robots and marble scultpures as abstractions of humanity. These two artpieces were created using a combination of photobashing and digital rendering in Procreate.

Pet Supply Packaging

Done as a another mini project for my packaging class, Genero pet supplies was designed to be a store brand series of items. I wanted to try working with transparency as well as die cut packaging.

Wooden Night Stand

Night stand

one benefit of working in a woodshop is that we occassionally get really nice scrap wood leftover from student projects. This nightstand was built over the course of a few workshifts using only scrap material.

Yamaha Gas Tank Paint

During the pandemic I got really into repairing old motorcycles. I eventually wanted to push myself with more advanced painting styles so I created this custom gas tank design using a combination of tape, stencils, and floral lace.

Tire Render

This motorcycle tire was made to explore some more advanced Solidworks modeling features I hadn't used before and was rendered in Keyshot.

Headphone stand 3D print

I got tired of constantly misplacing my headphones so I designed and printed a custom wall mount with matching branding.
